April 15, 2025 | Edison, NJ — Edison Mayor Sam Joshi has received the endorsement of the Edison Fire Officers Association, IAFF Local 2883, marking a significant show of support from the township’s first responder community. The announcement comes just days after Mayor Joshi also earned the endorsement of the Edison Police Benevolent Association Local 75.

IAFF Local 2883 represents the superior officers within the Edison Fire Department, a group that plays a crucial role in maintaining safety and emergency preparedness throughout the township. Their endorsement reflects confidence in Joshi’s leadership and his commitment to public safety.

“Our Edison firefighters are incredible and work tirelessly every day to keep our community safe,” said Mayor Joshi. “Having their support in this re-election is an honor, and I am deeply proud of our work together to strengthen public safety in Edison.”

During his first term, Mayor Joshi has made notable strides in enhancing the township’s emergency services. His administration hired 42 new firefighters, including the first two women ever to serve in the department, and prioritized resource allocation to ensure the department is well-equipped to meet community needs.

These endorsements by both police and fire unions underscore the Mayor’s broader strategy to unify and support Edison’s emergency services. As the re-election campaign continues, Joshi is positioning public safety as a cornerstone of his platform.

“Ensuring that our first responders have the resources and support they need will always be a top priority during my administration,” Joshi added.

With backing from both key public safety unions, Mayor Joshi enters the next phase of his campaign with strong momentum and the visible support of those charged with protecting Edison’s residents.
