
Diwali was celebrated with much fanfare at Times Square October 27 and 28, 2023. The landmark square was taken over by scores of stalls selling colorful wares and food, and crowds streamed by to enjoy the sounds and aromas of Indian culture and cuisine.

Among the high profile attendees was New York City Mayor Eric Adams, US Senator Chuck Schumer, D-NY, New York State Assemblywoman representing District 38 Jenifer Rajkumar, President/CEO of ABS Communications Neeta Bhasin.

Performers at the event included Mika Singh, Shuba, Sparsh Shah, and troupes of youth dancers from local dance schools. People moved to Bhangra beats as a group performed the vigorous Punjabi dance on stage.


Thousands of people jammed Times Square to enjoy the festivities.

Numerous leaders spoke at the event including Rajkumar and Schumer, Adams, as well as Mika Singh, Indian American community leaders.

Several people were honored for high achievements in their fields of endeavor.
