Shree Jalaram Mandir in Hoffman Estates, IL held its first Annual Health Fair Sunday April 23 2023, to assist those not having health insurance or unable to bear the high cost of care.
More then 215 people took advantage of the services offered at the Fair by several health care professionals and scores of assistants as well as volunteers. About 5 physicians, 2 cardiologists, 2 dentists, and 2 Eye specialists and close to 75-80 non-Health Care volunteers participated, according to Jayanti Oza, a volunteer at the event.
Medical services offered included consultation with a physician, dental and eye exams, physical therapy, chiropractic consultation, as well as diet and nutrition advice, as well as EKGs followed by a cardiologist’s interpretation.
The event was supported by Lohana Association of Greater Chicago, local vendors and Federation of Indian Associations.
Volunteers and devotees of Shree Jalaram Mandir helped maintain a smooth flow of attendees who came for the checkups.
A Mandir Kitchen Team supplied tea, coffee, and a light breakfast to all.
Health Fair coordinators were Jayanti Thakkar and Bakul Thakkar.
