
On January 27, 2024, Bharatiya Senior Citizens of Chicago celebrated India’s 75th Republic Day in collaboration with ‘Mandi Theater”
The highlight of the program was staging of the Hindi play, ‘The Antidote,’ as well as a cultural program, singing and dances.

A ‘Ganesh Vandna’ was sung by BSC Secretary Rasila Dobariya, followed by all BSC committee members participating in Deep Pragatya ceremony, saluting the Indian flag and singing the Indian National Anthem ‘Jana Gana Mana…”
A short video was projected on screen with the speech of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on “Ayodhya Ram Mandir Pratistha Mahotsav.’
The Bhupat Ranpariya family distributed ‘Ram Charitra’ books to members.

Devotional as well as patriotic songs were dominant during the evening program. Jimmie and Shika Tandon sang fun, enjoyable, happy songs
Bharatnatyam and Kathak classical dances were also performed by Sonali, Ramya and Swati.
Writer, Paul Chopra performed a mimicry segment.

Mandi theater’s play, The Antidote” was a well-crafted, profound story about duties, about lives, about children and parents, about an exhausted old man in front of his adult children.
Attendees enjoyed dinner at the end of the program.
