
Pooranee Thanjavur Ramesh is an Indian classical Bharatanatyam dancer passionate about her art, and wanting to highlight Indian culture through her talent wherever she appears. Her Vision – “Women are born to succeed. Real talents are being accepted everywhere. Think out of the box and get success.”
Ramesh started learning dance from the age of 6 and performed in many venues.
In the tri-state area, she has performed at the Bridgewater Venkateswara temple, Guruvayoorappan temple-Morganville, Sai Datta Peetam-Edison, Mahalakshmi Temple – Delaware.
According to a profile sent by the family to News India Times, Ramesh has received many trophies and participated in World Record.
She has a bachelor’s degree in Bharatanatyam dance and a masters in Commerce.
Apart from Bharatanatyam, she also does folk, western and Bollywood dances. Her other interests also include handcrafts, drawing, and artwork (Crafting, Stitching, Drawing, Mehndi, Make-up, and Hair stylist).
She performed in the 64th Republic Day celebration organized by the Government of Tamil Nadu in 2013. She has awarded the *KALAI THILAGAM* title by “All India Entwined Fine Arts Group” in 2023.
She has participated in Brahan Natyanjali –International Dance Festival at the Big Temple, Thanjavur in 2018.
She received the *WOMEN APPRECIATION AWARD* from SCA, NJ, USA – for her “selfless service to the community through her art and talent.”
Ramesh is associated with Bridge Academy – College for Music & Fine arts, India. She is a Pioneer Classical Bharatanatyam Performer in Dulhan Expo (20 Years in History) – Tri State Expo in PA, USA. She has been awarded “Best Choreographer” by Business NJ, USA.
She represented Indian culture at the Diwali Festival – 2023 in American School, NJ.
She recently won Mrs.Bharat Petite New Jersey 2024 conducted by MYDREAMTV USA.
