
This August 31 to September 4, 2022, the event-management company -1947 Productions & Entertainment Inc. – hosted the “9th Annual Biggest Ganesh Utsav Festival of America” at Woodbridge Center Mall, Woodbridge, New Jersey, the company said in a press release.
The event, commonly known as Ganesh Chaturthi worldwide, is a celebration of the rebirth of Lord Ganesh. Popularly celebrated with great fervor all around India, 1947 has been keeping the tradition alive for the South Asian diaspora in USA, since 2014, when the inaugural event got an overwhelming response, the company said.
More than 150,000 people attend it annually, the company estimates.
The five-day festival is marked by a massive 14 feet statue of Lord Ganesh, which is worshipped over the course of the celebrations.
A vendor fair featuring jewelry, apparel, toys, food, along with a dance performance show, allows visitors to better experience the culture of India.

Renowned individuals from India, including former police officer Kiran Bedi, playback singer Javed Ali and Bollywood actor Abhimanyu Dasani, have been VIP guests at the event.
Sponsors have included Shoprite, SLT Foods, Zee TV, Patel Brothers, Swad Foods, 27th Cares, New York Life, MassMutual, Aaj Tak, ITV Gold, TV Asia, Royal Albert’s Palace and many more.
