
The Indo-American Senior Citizens Association of Hudson County hosted a big celebration to mark the nation’s 248th Independence Day.
More than 160 members gathered to take part in the festivities, which aimed at highlighting the values of unity, happiness, and patriotism, a press release from organizers said.
A ceremonial flag-hoisting jumpstarted the event.
A day filled with joyous activities followed during which several speakers addressed the gathering and performers engaged the attendees.

“We take pride in honoring the courageous individuals who fought for our freedom and celebrating the values that define American greatness,” Chairman Jatinder Bakshi is quoted saying in the press release. “It was a day to remember, complete with delightful music, delectable food, and the cherished presence of family and friends,” he added.
Organizers attributed the success of the event to the dedication and hard work of numerous individuals, organizations, and companies, including President Dipak Valsadia, General Secretary Nitin Vyas, Vice President Rashesh Shah, Dinesh Pandya, Kamlesh Patel, Nishant Shrivastav, Mukund & Rama Thakar from Arista Care CTR, Bharat Rana & Mahendra Shah from FISANA, H.K. Shah from World Vegan Vision, Ravi Parikh, Hervendar Pal Singh, and Arjumand Juweria.

Members of the Indo-American Senior Citizen Association played a significant role in making it a seamless event. Special thanks were extended to Arista Care CTR, FISANA, World Vegan Vision.
Commissioner Bill O’Dea and Tom Zuppa from Jersey City attended the event along with other leaders, which according to organizers, underscored the importance of communal harmony and was a collective tribute to country’s legacy.
