
On the eve of #WorldWaterDay in New York, the Indian Consulate held a community engagement event with India’s Minister for Water Gajendra Singh Shekhawat March 21, 2023.

“I had the opportunity to meet & interact with our very dynamic Indian diaspora here,” the Minister tweeted.
The meeting was hosted by Consul General of India in New York Randhir Jaiswal and attended by scores of Indian Americans. Thee was also a Q & A session.

“I shared with them the journey of our Ministry of Jal Shakti & the historic mega water movement undertaking in India under the leadership of hon’ble PM Sh @narendramodiJi,” Minister Shekhawat went on to tweet.
“It was heartwarming to see the genuine appreciation of our extended Indian family here for our efforts back in country. Glad to share that most of them vouch for the transformation that India is witnessing today,” he added.
In his speech, Shekhawat appealed to the community to “contribute with even greater trust & strengthen the hands that are building this new India.”
The Minister said he “also sought that our ‘cultural & business ambassadors’ be the spokespersons of our nation & share the tale of our holistic transformation across the world.”
