Indian Americans in New England celebrate International Women’s Day

The Foundation of Indian-Americans (FIA) New England (fiane.org), a non-profit organization, hosted a celebration on International Women’s Day 2025, which falls on March 8, at the iconic John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum recognizing women leaders from diverse fields to honor their remarkable contributions to society.

Kicking off the day-long celebrations with an interactive video session where women leaders shared their experiences and reflections, with the theme based on JFK’s memorable words, “Ask not what your country can do for you; Ask what you can do for your country!

The session was moderated by FIA executive team members, Manisha Kumar, Anupama Debroy, Dr. Lakshmi Thalanki, Piyusha, and Vishant Mahajan, a press release from FIA-NE said.

At the official honoring ceremony, Irena Victoria King read aloud the International Women’s Day Governor’s Proclamation, and shared a special message from Joe Kennedy III.

Congratulations were extended to all the women leaders honored at the event, whose accomplishments ranged from  entrepreneurship, education, healthcare, arts, fashion, community service, and more.

The women honored at the International Women’s Day celebrations hosted by the Foundation of Indian Americans-New England.

The honorees included:

  • Pratibha Ayurved – Ayurveda Research & Scholarship
  • Sunaina Chauhan – Leadership in Education, Supporting Underprivileged Families
  • Manisha Jain Jain – Leadership in Education for Underprivileged Children

The FIA team led by MCs Priyanka Wadhwa and Jyoti Singh presented each woman leader with a memento and award, acknowledging their contributions.

Organizers thanked John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum staff and all the dignitaries in attendance, who made the celebration possible.
