Indian Ambassador holds exclusive meeting with prominent Tri-state leaders

India’s Ambassador to the United States Vinay Mohan Kwatra, came to New York from Washington, D.C., to hold an interactive session with prominent Indian American leaders at the Indian Consulate in Manhattan.

Leaders from New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania gathered at the Indian Consulate August 3, for the exclusive meeting with Ambassador Kwatra on the heels of a substantial expansion of India’s consular services around the US starting August 1.

According to a post on X by the Indian Consulate, Ambassador Kwatra echoed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appreciation of the Indian diaspora as a “dynamic ‘living bridge’”. He also highlighted the “vital role” of the Indian diaspora in fostering deeper ties between India and the US, the post said.

The Ambassador also “underlined the Government of India’s steadfast commitment to accessible, efficient, and people-centric consular service delivery,” referring to the opening of the 8 new Consular Application Centers around the US. That step, he indicated, was “a clear manifestation of this commitment to serving the Indian diaspora.”
