Community Health Fair Provides Free Screenings and Health Education in Hamilton, NJ

Hamilton, NJ – May 19, 2025 — A community health fair hosted on Sunday, May 18, at the RWJ Fitness & Wellness Center in Hamilton, NJ, provided local residents with a variety of free health services and information. The event was organized by Health Camp of New Jersey (HCNJ) in partnership with RWJ Barnabas Health – Hamilton.

The fair offered complimentary health screenings such as blood pressure, glucose, cholesterol, hemoglobin A1c, thyroid testing, and additional blood work. Services were supported by LabCorp and RWJ Hamilton, with on-site physical therapy assessments, medication management consultations, and pharmacy counseling.

In addition to general screenings, the event focused on specific health concerns, particularly those affecting South Asian communities. Educational initiatives included information on cancer prevention, stroke awareness, and mental health. Participating organizations included NJ CEED, the Trenton Health Team, SATHI – Rutgers, the NJ Health Study, SAMHIN, Project BEST, and CARE.

Volunteers from several local organizations, including the Rotary Club of Hamilton/Robbinsville, SHINE, and SEWA, contributed to the day’s operations. Informational booths offered guidance on chronic disease management, access to low-cost healthcare, and insurance enrollment options.

Attendees expressed appreciation for the opportunity to receive medical services and guidance in an accessible setting. Organizers noted the importance of ongoing community outreach and plan to continue hosting health fairs throughout the year.

The next event is scheduled for Sunday, June 15, 2025, at the Umiya Dham Temple in Edison, NJ. HCNJ reports that since its inception, it has screened over 13,500 individuals and identified more than 4,000 instances of chronic conditions. The organization aims to open a Community Health Center by 2026 to offer continued care and follow-up services for underserved populations.
