Ayushmann Khurrana invited to join The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences

Ayushmann Khurrana, who has carved a niche for himself through his brand of disruptive, progressive cinema in India, has been invited to join The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (Oscars) this year!

“We are thrilled to invite this esteemed class of artistes, technologists and professionals to join the Academy,” said Academy CEO Bill Kramer and Academy President Janet Yang. “Through their commitment to filmmaking and to the greater movie industry, these exceptionally talented individuals have made indelible contributions to our global filmmaking community.”

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has invited distinguished artistes from across the world for their contributions to motion pictures and cinema. Ayushmann joins the likes of powerhouse actors and artistes like Gillian Anderson, Ariana Grande, Kamal Haasan, Mikey Madison, Jeremy Strong and Kieran Culkin to name a few.

Ayushmann has been lauded globally for his path-breaking cinema, a medium he has constantly used to silently contribute towards nation-building. He has been honored twice by TIME Magazine, for the TIME100 Impact Award 2023 and TIME100 list in which he was chosen to be among the 100 Most Influential People of the World. Ayushmann is also the UNICEF India Ambassador who works for child rights protection.

Besides his debut film, Vicky Donor, his films have espoused varying social causes, including Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, Badhaai Ho, Dream Girl, Bala and Chandigarh Kare Aaashiqui.
