
The India Day Parade of New York City, considered the largest celebration of India’s Independence Day outside that country, will be led by mega-star Allu Arjun, the Federation of Indian Associations announced July 12, 2022.

The FIA which organizes the highly anticipated annual parade, held its fourth Parade Council meeting July 12, 2022, where it announced the slate of celebrities who will lead the 40th India Day Parade scheduled for August 21.

The FIA President Kenny Desai announced that FIA’s 40th Grand Marshal would be mega star Allu Arjun of ‘Pushpa’ fame. He also announced details of the FIA planned grand events lined up for the celebration of India’s 75 years of Independence -Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
Allu Arjun will be accompanied by NYC Mayor Eric Adams and a host of other distinguished dignitaries and celebrities, a press release from FIA said.
At the July 12 meeting, Desai thanked the committee for their hard work and sincere efforts and said he is proud to be part of the team which has been working tirelessly round the clock to put together this event of massive proportions.

Speaking on the occasion FIA Chairman Ankur Vaidya welcomed the announcement of Allu Arjun and praised him for his kindness and patriotism towards the Motherland. The Indian American community “is super excited to welcome their beloved star and we will pull out all the stops to make him feel at home and make him feel welcomed,” the press release said.
