During a basketball game Feb. 12, where the Windy City Bulls – the official NBA G League affiliates of the Chicago Bulls, took on the Wisconsin Herd, the Indian-American community organization, Federation of Indian Associations (FIA) celebrated the Indian Heritage Night at the Sears Center Arena.
Founder President of FIA Sunil Shah, along with the current President Ninad Daftari, and last year’s President Neil Khot, presided over the Indian Heritage Night celebrations, and Ashley Singh, daughter of the past-president of FIA, Rita Singh, performed the national anthem, according to a press release from Adbhut Media.
Shah was presented a Certificate of Appreciation for celebrating three years of Indian Heritage Night.
The highlight of the evening was the quarter breaks cheer by the students of SSR Chicago; The exquisite dance performances during the half-time by Kalashree Dance Academy and Mankruti Performance Arts under the auspices of the FIA cultural secretary Hema Shastri, the press release said. Also enjoyable was a fun zone with Windy City Bulls obstacle course and basketball hoops, one of the main attractions in the arena. Live mascots of Gus T. Bulls entertained the cheering crowds. The “Catch the t-shirt” act further energized attendees, Adbhut Media reported.
